From Retreat to Russia

In early January of this year, I began my seventh home retreat in the remodeled garage in our backyard. Within my Buddhist community, Mangala Shri Bhuti, individuals undertake retreats on a regular basis, usually going to one of our centers, which are located here in Colorado and Vermont, and in Japan and Brazil. Members of the sangha live in many parts of the world, from North and South America to Europe and Asia. Because I care for my aging husband with dementia, I have needed to remain close to home, yet with the help of a care team, I have been spending eight hours each day engaged in meditation practice, and this will continue until mid-April.

Right now in mid-March, I find myself quite affected by what is going on in Ukraine. You can read my article, Russia and the World, in the new occasional writing section.
